Causes of death are classified in accordance with the Tenth Revision of the International Classifications of Diseases (ICD-10) ; cancer incidence with Third Revision of the International Classifications of Diseases (ICD-O-3) ; and hospital discharges with International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM). Codes are grouped into broader categories for the causes listed in these tables in order to classify the causes of death or incidence of disease.
