About the Data

Tumor information was collected by the Michigan Cancer Surveillance Program (MCSP), which participates in the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This Michigan cancer statistics website was supported by Cooperative Agreement Number 5, U58 DP003921, funded by the CDC. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In 2014, MCSP received the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) for 2011 cancer incidence data.

NAACCR Registry Certification

In May 2015, MCSP received the 2014 Registry of Distinction from the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR).
