The mission of the Molecular Biology Section is to protect the health of the people of Michigan by enhancing the diagnostic and epidemiologic services provided by the Bureau of Laboratories.  This is accomplished through development of nucleic acid based diagnostic assays and by providing laboratory support for epidemiologic outbreak investigations.
