Notes:

Other Race: Those reported as Asian, Native America, multi-racial or some "other race" are included in the "other race" category.

Race Completeness: Reporting of race has always been very complete for syphilis cases ( > 90%) but poor for gonorrhea and chlamydia cases ( <=50% 2005, 60% 2009- 2011, 70% 2012- 13, 75% 2014). Race data is expected to improve further over the next few years.

STD cases: Outpatient clinics, hospitals, doctors offices and other health facilities report STD cases to the Michigan Department of Community Health. Cases include Michigan residents and reports of out-of-state testing for Michigan residents.
