Commission on Services to the Aging to Meet on Friday


Michigan Office of Services to the Aging Director, Lynn Alexander, today announced that the Commission on Services to the Aging will meet on Friday, March 17, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rare Book Room of the State Library and Historical Center, 717 W. Allegan, in Lansing.

"The Office and Commission on Services to the Aging, continue to promote independence and enhance the dignity of Michigan's older persons and their families," said Alexander. "The Commission meetings are an important way for the public to offer their input on improving the lives of our senior residents."

The Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging is Appointed by the Governor and acts as advocates for Michigan residents age 60 and older. The Commission also reviews and approves grants administered by the Office of Services to the Aging and the formulates recommendations in federal and state programs, statutes and policies.
