Haveman Announces Holland Director of Southgate Center
Michigan Department of Community Health Director James K. Haveman, Jr., today announced the appointment of Joy Holland as Director of the Southgate Center. Holland replaces Acting Director Ken Longton, who was recently named Director of the Mt. Pleasant Center. Southgate Center serves persons with developmental disabilities.
Holland has served as Director of the Huron Valley Center since 1993. She has served as Director of the Clinton Valley Center and Ypsilanti Regional Psychiatric Hospital as well as Associate Director at Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital. Holland earned a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph College, New York.
"Joy Holland is a skilled professional who is dedicated to serving the needs of persons with mental illness and developmental disabilities," said Haveman. "Joy's experience operating residential mental health treatment programs gives me great confidence that she will be an excellent Director of the Southgate Center."
Holland's appointment as Director of Southgate Center is effective March 7, 1999. Dr. Hubert Carbone, Director of Psychiatric Services at the Department of Community Health, will serve as Acting Director of the Huron Valley Center.
