Women's Mental Health Seminar to be held in Romulus
The Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards will host a Women's Mental Health Seminar on Friday, May 2, 1997 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The seminar will be held at the Royce Hotel, 31500 Wick Road in Romulus.
"This year we launched Every Woman...Michigan's Year of Women's Health, an aggressive public information and media campaign focusing on women's health issues. The Women's Mental Health Seminar is an important part of the Every Woman Campaign to raise awareness on mental health issues," said Michigan Department of Community Health Director James K. Haveman, Jr.
Jarold Adams, Executive Director of the Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Board, will discuss "Women and Quality Services."
Donna Orrin, President of Creative Connections in Ann Arbor, will discuss "Recovery from Mental Illness: A Woman's View."
Sandra Neal, Director of the Northeast Drop-In Center in Hamtramck and Bernadine Farrar, Director of CURE, will discuss "Women's Perspective in Mental Health."
Sonia Fernandez, Therapist/Clinician at Hispanic Mental Health Outpatient Services, Southwest Detroit Community Mental Health, will discuss "Hispanic Women and Mental Health: Treatment Issues and Interventions."
Joy Holland, Director of the Huron Valley Center will serve as Facilitator of the Seminar.

There will be additional seminars in Grand Rapids on May 6 and in Lansing on May 13.
