About the MDCH/MPHI Dementia Program

MDCH contracts with the Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI) to fund dementia information and referral services throughout the state. The MPHI Dementia Program provides grants to Michigan's ten Alzheimer's Association Chapters, the Michigan Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America, and the Michigan Parkinson Foundation so that they can provide information and referral services to families and professionals. Dementia Information Network agencies use the grants to staff helplines, maintain databases of available services, and develop, print, and distribute informational materials.

The Dementia Program also participates in the Michigan Dementia Coalition, a coalition including various universities, community organizations and consumers, that strives to improve the quality of life of persons with dementia and their families throughout the state.
